About DXnow
DXnow turns your Salesforce org into a Salesforce DX project in Git, plus a test run for a Scratch Org.
- Most of the work runs in your browser: retrieving, converting, Git, the editor.
- Your data is stored in your browser (localStorage, OPFS). "Forget this browser" erases it.
- The server is minimal. It is mostly a CORS proxy to Salesforce, plus the few things a browser cannot do itself: the OAuth login and creating Scratch Org and sandbox logins.
- Login with OAuth is a compromise. DXnow reuses the Salesforce CLI's connected app, so nothing needs to be installed in your org, and that is why you paste the callback URL after logging in. Refreshing tokens doesn't work: when a session expires, log in again.
